We are excited to share that the Secret Lair x NALAC: Nuestra Magia collaboration, created in partnership with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, has surpassed $1 million in support, with the final tally still counting! This is not only a fundraising achievement, but it is also a powerful example of how narrative and representation can transform culture.
Over a year in the making, this collaboration was more than a product launch. It was an opportunity to infuse cultural equity into a new space. From the start, we saw the potential of bringing Latinx/é artistry and storytelling to the global stage of Magic: The Gathering. Visibility in this kind of platform affirms that our communities belong everywhere.
The artists selected for the project illustrated narratives that highlighted their histories and traditions, offering diverse and deeply personal reflections and representations that honored and celebrated the rich cultures across Latin America. Furthering the desire for authenticity, the cards were made available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Fans told us how meaningful it was to see their cultures, languages, and traditions reflected in a game they love. These stories remind us that representation is not symbolic; it is personal and powerful. Nuestra Magia demonstrates how narrative building and narrative power can transform what is possible for artists, communities, and our collective future.

And with your continued support, these resources will enable us to expand leadership opportunities, provide direct support to artists, and advocate for a field that strengthens the Latinx/é arts community.
