Publicity Coordinator

Young Concert Artists, Inc., a non-profit organization which has discovered and launched the careers of exceptional classical musicians for 57 years, seeks to fill the full-time position of Publicity Coordinator. The organization’s activities include presenting the Young Concert Artists Series in New York and Washington, D.C., and management of YCA artists.

The Publicity Coordinator promotes the organization and its roster of 34 artists, and is involved in all aspects of the organization’s mission, working closely with the Director and all members of the YCA team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Writing artist biographies for use in promotion, programs, publications, and as web content

- Developing engaging content for artist promotional materials

- Managing and creating original daily content for the organization’s social media pages, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

- Working with press, presenters, artists, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and other media and artistic professionals as needed

- Creating web content, and overseeing its implementation on all platforms

- Writing press releases

- Maintaining databases, including organizing and archiving media content for organization and artists

- Performing general office duties

- Attend evening and/or weekend YCA events



- Strong sense of initiative, written and verbal communication skills

- Detail-oriented and organized in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, both independently and with others

- Strong writing and proofreading skills

- Computer skills, specifically:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite

- Familiarity with Vertical Response, MailChimp, or Constant Contact for creation and dissemination of emails

- Understand Google, Facebook, and Twitter analytics

- Possess basic knowledge of Sony Vegas Video Editing software

- Willingness to learn other information technology programs as needed


- Classical music background required

- Bachelor’s degree

- Minimum of two years’ experience in public relations and marketing for music, cultural or nonprofit organizations

- Design experience and imagination for creating promotional materials
