To provide on-site support to the Phillips Music series, established in 1941 and now in its 83rd season.

The Music Production Assistant assists with Concert/Livestream production and AV management on concert days, principally Sundays between October and May with occasional Thursday concerts and off-site events.


Livestream production (30%)

• Assists Concerts and Production manager with setting up livestream hardware, including:
o Sets up AV/livestream equipment with care for condition of equipment and safety of artwork.
o Runs and gaffs cables.
o Tests and troubleshoots AV/livestream equipment.
• Contributes to livestream operation, including:
o Monitors and maintains focus of remote cameras.
o Following music scores to facilitate lower thirds timing (desired but not required).

Concert Logistics (70%)

• Attends and performs required tasks for all Sunday and Thursday concerts.
• Pre-concert preparation:
o Obtains refreshments and prepares green room for artist use.
o Assists with preparing the music room for concerts, including arranging chairs, music stands and other staging requirements, and piano placement.
o Prints and disperses programs and other materials provided by the Concerts and Production Manager or Senior Director of Music.
o Greets concert guests and checks tickets.
• Assists with or leads stage changes during concerts.
• Assists with restoring music room and green room to pre-concert state.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 1-2 years’ experience in concert and livestream production, preferably in the context of chamber music concert presentation.
• Must possess a familiarity with classical and post-classical music and a desire to learn more.
• Highly effective as team member and collaborator with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Can work some evening and weekend hours.
• Ability to maintain professional composure during livestream operation.
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds without assistance.

• Ability to read music and follow a score.
