Victor Alexander’s journey began at the prestigious Escuela Nacional de Arte in Havana, Cuba, where he trained, grew, and rose to the rank of principal dancer with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, performing globally and gaining national prominence for his technical ability and expressive dance style.
Since relocating to Chicago in 2002, Victor has spent more than a decade with various prominent dance companies, including Luna Negra Dance Theater, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. After establishing himself as a sought-after dance teacher and mentor, Victor joined ruth Page Center as the Director of Ruth Page School of Dance (RPSD) in 2013.
During his tenure, he launched the RPSD summer intensive program, now known as International Dance Experience, expanded the RPSD’s international collaborations, and started its first professional dance training program. His accolades include being named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2013 and receiving the Hedwig Dance Leadership Award in 2022. In 2025, he was recognized with the Ruth Page Award. Victor’s experience and dedication to his craft continue to inspire and uplift everyone around him. His contributions to Ruth Page School of Dance and the broader dance community are truly remarkable.
