Blood Language

To support the research, development and a showing of a new ensemble dance directed by Minnesota-based, queer, Chilean choreographer Taja Will. This dance personifies archetypes, blood languages and ritual through structured improvisation and atmospheric design. It addresses feeling states of belonging and otherness; the duality between trauma and healing as individuals with marginalized identities living in the United States. With race, queerness and relationship at the center of the work, it’s designed for an intimate, non-proscenium space, with the intention to engage embodied empathy amongst the performers and the audience.
