Sylvia Lopez has a 20+ year track record producing multi-size Latinx cultural events, concerts, festivals, theatre and production. Her independent producing history includes:
1. As the International Latino Cultural Center’s Marketing and Events Director, she produced seven (2012 – 14, 2018 – 21) “Chicago Latino Film Festival” – the oldest and the largest Latine Film Festival in the country.
2. In 2017 – 2021, she was the Managing & Development Director for Teatro Vista, executively producing ten theatre productions throughout Chicago at the Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf 1700 Theatre, Victory Gardens, and the Den Theatre.
3. As an independent producer, she has produced over 20+ multi-sized Latine concerts with Grammy-nominated artists and local artists in venues throughout Chicago.

In 2019, she was selected as one of Newcity’s Players – the 50 leaders of Chicago’s Theater, Dance, Opera, and Comedy Culture, ranking #13 on the list. Additionally, she is a professional singer who has over 25 years of experience opening for Arturo Sandoval, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Michael Stuart, Frankie Negron, La Santa Cecilia, Los Panchos, etc.

Currently, Sylvia is the Director of Community Projects and Events at Old Town School of Folk Music, booking world music artists to perform for their World Music Wednesdays Concert Series. Her highest aspiration as a Latine artist is to create and produce Latine events, concerts, festivals, etc., to the highest caliber while creating a space for the underrepresented in the Latine community.
