Pansy Pachanga is a documentary film on the history of the Rio Grande Valley that will serve as a tool for understanding the complexity of the South Texas border region and the LGBTQ+ community of the region. This documentary and associated research expands and facilitates conversations around the LGBTQ+ community within the borderlands. Pansy Pachanga tells the story of how this community’s struggles intersect with the issues of race, class, culture, gender, immigration, and identity that mark the borderlands.
