Nasheli Juliana Ortiz González stands as a prominent figure in fashion, academia, non-profit organizations, and social development. Hailing from Puerto Rico, her most recent role as Executive Director at Taller Puertorriqueño in Philadelphia underscores her commitment to fostering participatory design initiatives guided by communities. Her endeavors spark and cultivate artistic expression, encapsulating her dedication to the intersection of creativity and community empowerment.

Ortiz González has an academic background of 17 years, holding positions such as Associate Professor and Chair of Fashion Design at Moore College. She has also worked in important education positions at S.C.A.D., Lindenwood University, Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, and the Escuela de Diseño y Arquitectura of Ana G. Méndez University, both in Puerto Rico.

Ortiz González is the driving force behind Nasheli Juliana (N.J.), a fashion studio committed to social justice and exemplifying innovation and creativity in design. Ortiz González’s designs have graced prestigious runways worldwide, ranging from Paris to New York Fashion Weeks, and have been recognized by esteemed publications such as Vogue and Forbes Magazine and seen on Netflix’s “Next in Fashion.” She is a founding Board Member of the Philadelphia Fashion Garment and Industry Task Force, advocating for sustainability and local manufacturing.
