Jose ‘Joey’ Gaona is a native of Laredo, Texas and a nonprofit professional focusing on fundraising for arts and culture organizations. He currently serves as Houston Ballet’s Assistant Director of Institutional Giving. In this role, he assists with cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporations, foundations, and government agencies to support the Ballet in fulfilling its mission as the fifth largest ballet company in the nation. Previously, he worked at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, one of the country’s premier contemporary dance companies. He earned his BA in Dance and Business Foundations Program Certification from The University of Texas at Austin.
