Jesús López-Jensen is Executive Director of the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) and was appointed to the position in November 2025, as the sixth in the organization’s history. A proud member of the Latinx and LGBTQ+ communities, Jesús leads all efforts to further BCA’s mission to support Bronx artists by building strong connections, providing resources, and advocating for equitable practices in the arts and culture field. He joined the BCA team in November 2021, serving both as the Administration and Development Manager, and as the Deputy Director; during this time he was one of 18 leaders from across New York City selected to participate in NYFA’s 2023 Incubator for Executive Leaders of Color program.
In 2023, he was appointed to Bronx Community Board 7 by Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, where he currently serves on the Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Affairs committee. Prior to joining BCA, Jesús managed operations and finance at Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA). Originally from Sunset Park in Brooklyn, Jesús lives with his husband in the Norwood neighborhood of the Bronx. He holds a BA in German Literature and Italian Literary & Cultural Studies from the University of Connecticut.
