About
Daya Dorado’s self-proclaimed “Mexi-Country” music, encompasses the beauty and the trivialities of her borderland experience. Raised in Texas in a Mexican household, her take on country music is a fusion of those two cultures. Awarded Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country Artist Grant, Daya is proudly one of the few Latinas currently in country music. Her accordion playing is symbolic of her Norteño Mexican roots. Her songwriting is reflective of both her upbringing and the stories of her community. Daya is set to start production of her first Country album in summer of 2023.
