Comedor Azul (est. 2021) is a group of three multidisciplinary artists that live and work in Miami, Florida. Our project consists of a blue table that travels to different Miami communities in efforts to share, listen, and sit together. Our practice is centered on reintroducing traditional foods through the decolonization of recipes and sharing of these meals. This allows us to be in a living relationship to food– a reclaiming of Black and Indigenous food knowledge from our motherlands: Republica Dominicana, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, and Ecuador.
This project is led by Comedor Azul, a collective of artists: Amaris Cruz-Guerrero,
Leslie Gomez-Gonzalez, and Joaquin Stacey-Calle.
