LANDFALL

To support a series of free screenings of LANDFALL, a feature documentary by Blackscrackle Films, in open-air plazas across Puerto Rico. A kaleidoscopic portrait of Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane María, LANDFALL also investigates a storm of a much greater magnitude: the economic crisis that crippled the island long before María arrived, and the disaster capitalism now reshaping it. These film screenings in Puerto Rico will make the film accessible to anyone, regardless of political affiliation or financial means. In partnership with local community organizations, they plan to organize structured conversations that will support efforts for a just Puerto Rican future. As a diasporic Puerto Rican, Cecilia Aldarondo of Blackscrackle Films sees that this conversation is both necessary and one that should be led by Puerto Ricans who are living and breathing the crisis in Puerto Rico every day.
