The Forgiveness Project
To support the production of a series of large-scale oil paintings and mixed media sculptures that confront the intersection of transgression and the beyond. Focused on the theme of forgiveness, Ashley Perez’s completed works will reflect on how distrust can impact interpersonal relationships. This work will be a continuation of the artist’s ongoing journey of understanding of trust using a bank of imagery that combines nature and hunting. The artist aims to expand on facing past painful experiences, coping mechanisms, and healing through conversations with her community and local mental health caregivers.
