A native Angeleno, Abril Iñiguez-Rivas holds a B.A. in Biology from Pomona College and studied marine biodiversity and evolutionary genetics in the UCLA Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and at the Indonesian Biodiversity Research Center in Denpasar, Bali. As Program Manager, she currently keeps the wheels turning on all of Arts for LA’s outward-facing events and programs. Although a trained scientist, Abril nurtures her artistic side through mariachi music; she was a founding member of Mariachi Serrano de Claremont at the Claremont Colleges and continues as an alumni member of Mariachi de Uclatlán with the UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology.
