Since 1989, the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures has delivered programs that stabilize and revitalize the US Latino arts and cultural sector via funding, leadership training, convenings, research, and advocacy.

Who We Are.

Our constituency is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, and interdisciplinary community that includes thousands of Latino artists and hundreds of nonprofit Latino arts and cultural organizations in urban and rural communities.

NALAC envisions a cultural landscape that fully values and integrates the essential contributions of an expanding Latino arts field and its dynamic workforce.

How We Work.

NALAC activates the transformative qualities of art and culture by investing educational, financial and relationship-building resources in order to bolster artistic excellence, cultivate responsive cultural stewardship, strengthen career development, advance diversity of perspective, foster sites of belonging, and invigorate community discourse.

NALAC stimulates and facilitates intergenerational dialogues among disciplines, languages, and traditional and contemporary expressions.

Advocacy

Providing a strong voice for Arts and Culture in all its forms and manifestations for Latinos regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation and physical abilities.

Empowerment

Improving the severe under-capitalization of the artistic communities of color in general, and the Latino arts community in particular.

Equality

Voicing our repudiation of all forms of discrimination, including but not limited to: racism, sexism, ageism and discrimination against gay, lesbian, transgender, people living with a disability and undocumented populations.

Promoting the importance of multi-lingual and multi-ethnic environments that incubate the creation of art and promote and disseminate cultural initiatives by Latino artists, arts organizations, cultural workers, scholars and other sectors.
