22nd Edition of NALAC Leadership Institute: Applications Now Open
The deadline to apply for the 22nd NALAC Leadership Institute is April 22, 2022.
April 4, 2022, San Antonio – The National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) announces an open call for applications from Latinx artists, arts administrators and cultural workers for the 22nd edition of the NALAC Leadership Institute (NLI).
The institute historically held in-person transitioned to a virtual format in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year the institute returns in-person and will take place between July 11-16, 2022, in NALAC’s hometown of San Antonio, Texas.
“We are excited to return in-person for the 22nd edition of the NLI. One of the many highlights of our in-person institute is the opportunity for fellows to create a shared space and build connections with each other, along with NALAC faculty and staff. Latinx artists, arts organizations, and cultural workers have faced unprecedented challenges over the past two years. This year’s institute returns in anticipation of continued growth for Latinx leadership within the arts,” said Mari Hernandez NALAC Program Manager, Leadership, Institutes & Convenings.
Core faculty returning to lead the program include Rosalba Rolón (Pregones/PRTT), Dr. Maribel Álvarez (University of Arizona), Abel López (GALA Hispanic Theatre), Evonne Gallardo (arts consultant), and Charles Rice-Gonzalez (BAAD! Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance).
Participation in the NALAC Leadership Institute (NLI) is open to U.S. and Puerto Rico based Latinx artists, arts administrators, and cultural workers.
