They Shoot Mexicans, Don't They?

About Productions

To support the reimagined theaterwork "They Shoot Mexicans, Don't They?" (TSMDT) as part of the event series "The Latin Wave: Exploring Myth, Illusion and Cultural Appropriation." Set site-specifically at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, TSMDT is collaboratively created by a team of Latino/a artists including writers Theresa Chavez and Rose Portillo, musician/composer Quetzal Flores and members of the Grammy-winning band Quetzal, choreographer Francisco Martinez, and filmmaker Isaac Artenstein. TSMDT explores the historic encounter between early Hollywood, Latino culture, and the West. It will be produced as an interactive experience, activating the interior and exterior of the 1300-seat Mission Playhouse, in a 7-show run.
