The Volunteer’s Role


Join the Medioambiente y Desarrallo en Acción (ENDA) team in El Alto, Bolivia and empower youth in Bolivia!


In this brand-new partnership with Medioambiente y Desarrallo en Acción (Environment and Development in Action) or ENDA, you'll have first-hand experience in promoting and restoring the human rights of vulnerable girls and youth, some victims of violence or living on the streets and your support will hopefully take them out of these situations.


Your skills will be crucial in developing their socio-economic competencies, especially in the areas of employment, entrepreneurship and education for young women and girls in the workshops implemented by ENDA. You'll designing and implementing, in collaboration with your local colleagues, a training program for youth, boys and girls, that develop their employability abilities. You'll guide their participation at every stage of the training process, using gender empowerment and positive masculinities as a cross-cutting theme.

As a volunteer, you will:

- Design and implement a vocational training program for youth entering ENDA's Productive Social Units (USP) of bakery and craftsmanship (such as alpaca garment manufacturing). For more information, please visit:

- Create a career services training program for those preparing to join the job market, including resume writing, job searching, computer skills, job interview practice, among others.

- Develop an entrepreneurship program for youth focusing on business plans and micro-enterprise management among others.

- Implement a stakeholder mapping database of public organizations and private sector companies interested in collaborating in the employment of the beneficiaries of the partner organization.

Essential Academic Qualifications:

A degree in education, social sciences, psychology, business or other relevant area.

Essential Professional Background:

- Solid work experience in training and/or facilitation, preferably with youth.

- Experience in employment and entrepreneurship.


Support Package

- Modest monthly living allowance (varies depending country)

- Accommodation while in placement

- Return airfare and visa/work permit costs

- Cost of required vaccinations, antimalarial medication and health insurance

- Pre-departure training and in-country orientation

- Travel and accommodation for reintegration debriefing weekend

- Modest support for accompanying partners and dependents going on placement with you for 12 months or longer

- Access to Employee Assistance Program while in placement and upon return

- Cuso International assessment day (Candidates must cover the first $200 of the most cost-effective travel expenses and all accommodation costs).
