What's New for the 2010 NFA

1. Artists and organizations who received funding during last year's NFA cycle (2009-2010) must wait one year before re-applying to the NFA. Artists and organizations who received funding during the 2008-2009 cycle and earlier are eligible to submit proposals for this year's 2010-2011 NFA funding cycle.

2. The NFA Master Artist Grant recognizes one Latino Master Artist each year with a grant ranging from $10,000 to $20,000.  It is designed to support the Master Artist's work as well as enable him or her to mentor another artist in the community. A portion of the award is intended to be used by the Master Artist as a small grant to his or her chosen mentee.

3. A limited number of NFA Artist Fellowship Grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be offered to support exemplary artists whose work demonstrates excellence and the potential for impacting the Latino arts field.  Examples of acceptable expenses for NFA fellowships include but are not limited to: costs for the creation or completion of new work, travel, study, professional development, living expenses, equipment, hiring of assistants, etc.

4. DVD work samples are now required for Media Arts, Dance, Theatre and Performance Art projects; and are strongly recommended for Music, Hip Hop and Literary Arts proposals.
